Time Developing White Bikes for Boonen

Tom Boonen is happy to be World Champion, and he would like to show off the rainbow jersey with flare not seen since the days of Mario Cipollini. Time who recently built their legendary carbon bikes in any color as long as it is black and red will now be making some special edition bikes in white. These bikes have to be specially built with Boonens large size and power in mind. A rider such as Boonen stomping on the peddles during Paris-Roubaix is sure to test the strength of the frame. Velochimp would extend Time a chance to test their frames since Velochimp is well over 200ibs and would be a perfect tester for their VXRS frames. They don’t even have to be in fancy colors like Boonen’s bike.

Can’t keep up with the local speedsters in the club? Need a little extra push up those hills? Gizmodo calls our attention to a 1,000 watt bike. There are several variations that you can choose from:

The new io Cruiser has a turbo mode that can go 25 MPH, and they have a model called The Jackal that does 40 MPH.

The little black seat bags

You may have been wondering what those black seat bags were on several riders bikes during the Tour de France? These guys are fully supported so it is certainly not a spare tube or patch kit. It is in fact and F1 style telemetry system that allows TV crews to get real time rider
biometrics. OLN viewers, and those watching the Giro saw real-time heart-rates for certain riders.
In Germany, they got to see a bit more.

Adidas and Polar – Your Heart Rate Monitor is in My Shirt!

Addidas and Polar have teamed up to integrate a heart rate monitor into your shirt.

How does it work? Special fibers bonded onto adidas tops, work in conjunction with Polar’s Wear Link technology to eliminate the need for a separate chest strap to monitor heart rate. Just snap the tiny Polar WearLink connector onto the front of the shirt and go. The data is sent to the Polar RS 800 wrist-mounted running computer, which easily displays and records all information in real time. Simply put, your shirt talks to your running computer.

Oakley prepping the Thump 2

The previous OAKLEY Thumps could be seen on several Pro Cyclist during the Tour as they prep for Time Trials. Most notable was George Hincapie who has a love for gigantic shades from Oakley.

While the previous Thumps had a giant box on the side that looked more like a medical device more than a fashion statement. The new Oakleys promise to be more streamlined and offer more capacity. They will resemble the Oakley Gascans which we may see on Hincapie’s mug before too long.

Oakley RAZRwire

You’ve seen the Oakley Thumps, in fact Manny Ramirez of the Boston Red Sox wore them during a game to keep the boredom… I mean SUN out of his eyes.

Whatever ManRam’s MOTOvation, you can soon use the Oakleys to talk on you super-euro-cool RAZRphone. It is bad form to ride your bike and talk on the cell phone. It is worse than driving and talking for Crisssakes. These sunglasses from Oakley will help you look cool and talk at the same time.
