WTF! Vinokourov Tests Positive!?
This is totally unbelievable. What is it with these people that makes them continue to do this shit? I do not understand what the motivation is to still dope after all that has happened. From the Festina affair to Floyd Landis and Ivan Basso. These guys have thick heads and do not really comprehend what is truly at stake. They are pretty luck to ride a fucking bike for a living and earn some extra wages instead of taking up a regular job in some cubicle. So when the sport that allows you to do all of this is teetering on the brink of collapse because of doping what do you do?
It is totally unbelievable, especially now that the Yellow Jersey in the Tour de France is under suspicion. The sport cannot catch a break. T-Mobile is deciding whether or not to continue in the sport as are several other sponsors. Discovery Channel cannot find a replacement to continue the team, yet numb fuckheads like Vino still need the extra juice to get across the finish line first.
Its just unbelievable…
Amen. I am at least glad to see the whole team dropped. I still think the punishments aren’t harsh enough. They need to start hitting the whole team financially, including the owners. Of course, this would force owners to exit and then no more sponsors, etc. then no more Tour. Or, maybe it would just be smaller scale and more believable, or it would bring in a new set of owners with stricter standards.
The sponsors are leaving the sport. The good news is that little by little the sport is getting cleaner. It is a difficult process, but the hope is that the sport will be a very good place for sponsors in a few years. Processes are going into place within teams, Team Slipstream and others do their own testing.
With the ramifications of Vino’s test and others, maybe some racers will see that the downside is just not worth it and not take the risk. Then again, that is a logical argument that some racers may fail to make at a moment of weakness.
