Murica: Garcia first, Cunego second
Damiano Cunego is showing some form early this season. Although he recently said that he is changing his ways and not going for every win possible (bummer DC, from Velonews).
Cunego looks to be is great form going into Tirreno Adriatico. On the stage dedicated to the memory of Marco Pantani, Damiano Cunego gave the first important sign of his fitness this season. The Veronese of Lampre took second place on the toughest stage of the Vuelta a Murcia, losing by only htree seconds to Carlos Garcia Quesada of Unibet.com. The climber from Unibet took off on a breakway in the earlier climbs of the stage. Emanuele Sella had a brilliant third place finish. Santos Gonzalez of the 3Molinos team is the new overall leader as the race finishes tomorrow.
