Ivan Quaranta to Universal Caffe
Ivan Quaranta the enigmatic and some think washedup sprinter is expected to sign with the small Italian team Universal Caffe.
Quaranta was left off his former team’s roster Domina Vacanze as they morphed into Team Milram. Milram of course boasts two formidable sprinters, and Quaranta’s career has not been anywhere near what it was back in 1999 through 2001. In those days Quaranta looked to be the next Italian sprinting sensation as he fought head to head with Mario Cipollini and won. 40 even wore the Giro’s Maglia Rosa.
Ivan says that the main reason he is not retiring is that his wife did not want to see his career end at this point.? Ivan’s wife Carmen pushed Ivan to stay in cycling even though he has outside business concerns that could keep Ivan employed for a while. Quaranta and partners own a spa called Estetica 2000 which will occupy Ivan’s time once he decides to hang up his wheels.
I will stay in cycling because I am convinced that I can end my career on a good note.
