T-Mobile Goes Outward Bound
It worked for CSC for so many years, so why not try the miltary style bootcamp to foster teamwork? T-Mobile and of all teams Euskatel Euskadi are out in the wilderness learning to trust each other and build rope bridges. This will foster teamwork, or could make for some scary “Deliverance” style moments. The first task of the T-Mobile “Outward Bound” camp is to climb up to a cabin in the mountains which must have been taken directly from one of my favortie Simpsons episodes.

This actually works very well. I know it sounds a bit “strange” and that it’s just another fad, but if the camp is run the correct way – it works wonders. Especially if you have a team of individuals that maybe only know each other as professionals and not as friends.

I agree that it does work. Many CSC riders point to that experience as a key team builder.
It is just ripe for satire though
hehehe… Yes, you are right. It can sound a bit “silly” for a bunch of small, white guys to run around in the forest / mountains holding hands and hugging. But, if it generates results, who cares?

I think it’s kind of cool that T-Mobile has started doing this. I am surprised, though, that more teams haven’t done this or at least haven’t started doing it. I do think, though, that a few FDJers did some camping last year, the Aussies, that is.
