The fact that we are allowing ahtletes using performance enhancing drugs to return is amazing and wrong. Ban them for life.

I think it is OK to have an athlete serve some sort of sentance and then comeback. I am looking forward to David Millar’s return, and hope that he can be a positive force against doping.

I disagree with Mags — doping is bad, but a lifelong suspension is a bit harsh.

By the time any decisions are made WRT the appeal, Tyler’s suspension will have expired.

Well, I agree with the idea of giving people a second chance - but consider this: Athletes that knowingly and willingly uses PEDs are fully aware of the consequences and risks involved. They obviously have no “moral or ethical” problems with cheating and thinks that the gain outweighs the risk of getting caught (and the possible penalties involved). Their cheating hurts our sport far beyond what most people think. The public’s opinion of many endurance sports, including cycling, is tainted already, we need to take extreme measures to clean this sport up. If you have time, please read my 2 cents on this subject: http://roadrace1.blogspot.com/2005/11/doping.html I would like your opinion on it.

True, the athletes caught cheating knowingly and willingly used PEDs while being aware of the consequences involved. However, I am on-the-fence on this issue. I would like to see cycling really crack down on riders to cleanup the sport, but some of the testing methods are not 100% accurate. If a rider does get banned for life they should deserve it. Perhaps a two or -gulp- three strikes rule before a lifetime ban takes effect?

Well, I understand the controversy with regards to testing methods / lab procedures. This is unfortunate. However, lawyers of big-time riders (such as Heras) will scream and argue “testing error” regardless of testing procedures and methods. A lawyer can argue anything… :)
