Velochimp: Astrochimp on Cycling

It was a Festa Italiana in Spain and Poland today as Paolo Bettini and Daniele Bennati won stages.
Bettini beat out AleJet to take the victory in stage 16 of the Vuelta. He now has victories in all three Grand Tours.

Bennati lead home an Italian podium in Poland with Luca Paolini and Francesco Chicchi following him home.

The Italian World’s team looks to have many riders one form.Bettini does not mind shaking things up by making a case for the Italian team to also support his bid for a rainbow colored jersey.

“If the race is decided in a sprint we will all work for Petacchi, that’s clear, but I think it would be stupid for the Italian team to rest everything on just one rider. I will try to escape because the final straight is on a slight rise just like today’s,”
