From Reuters is the following story where it is stated that the samples tested were anonymous and cannot be confirmed to be Armstrong’s actual samples. The samples could probably be Armstrong’s since after each stage, the stage winner, the overall leader (yellow jersey) and a random rider are all tested. But it is not clear if the samples that were positive for EPO were in fact those that belong to Armstrong since all samples now are anonymous.
“The lab cannot link the results to a sportsman and can therefore not confirm the link made by L’Equipe between the test results and the (French federation) documents they publish,” the Chatenay-Malabry laboratory said in a statement.
