Velochimp: Astrochimp on Cycling

The Eneco Tour or Tour of Benelux without the “Lux” had an embarassing mishap today as the leading breakaway trio of Bart Dockx (Davitamon-Lotto), Jason McCartney (Discovery Channel) and Christian Vandevelde (Csc) were stopped to reestablish a smaller lead than the 13:09 lead that they had. The 13:09 lead arose when the following peloton took a wrong turn, while the break still followed the correct route. Race organizers didn’t want an insurmountable lead established, so they decided to stop the break and reset the original lead time.

In protest, Bart Dockx sat on the ground. Rules do not state that a break should be stopped in case the peloton takes a wrong turn. Results to follow.
