Just stumbled onto a Nightline story about Lance Armstrong and George Hincapie’s relationship. The story was by Jeremy Schapp and featured an interview with NY Times columnist/ sports writer George Vescey. They also interviews George and took snippets of interviews with Lance during the Tour. It was a brief look at how George and Lance are good friends on and off the bike.

In the segment, it is mentioned that George had several offers through the years to leave for more money, but alway stuck with the program. Lance mentioned that sticking with the Team and believing in the team is important especially in cycling.

They also showed several pic sof George as a young rider. He even had the great flat back and stretched out position when he was a pre-teen.

That segmet was followed up by a feature on Paul Anka’s new album where he covers Nirvana’s “Smells like teen spirit”, Van Halen’s “Jump” and Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger”!?!
Guess he is following in Pat Boone’s footsteps when he decided to cover Metallica and Ozzy Osbourne.
