Robbie McEwen pipped Tom Boonen at the line today. No head butting or pushing today. McEwen slipped right through to grab the win that looked like it belonged to Tom “Boom Boom” Boonen. McEwen must have had extra motivation after the stage 3 sprint that relegated him to 186th place.

Typical post TTT stage saw a long breakaway containing riders such riders as Salvatore Commeso and Juan Antonio Flecha. They were caught in the right amount of time to have Quick Step, Fdjeux.com and Davitamon take over. Fdjeux messed up their lead out by started too soon for the sprint. They must have feared the Qucik Step train, so they started quite a bit early. Boonen looked to have the sprint in the bag, but McEwen found an opening and jumped through in time for the win.
